    Though diamonds and sapphires are composed of different materials—diamonds are made of carbon while sapphires form from a mineral called corundum—they have a lot in common. They are both created under extreme heat and pressure inside the Earth over the course of millions of years. The conditions necessary for these stones to form is not common. But to find such incredibly high-quality expressions of both of these stones is quite rare.

    Both diamonds and sapphires represent destiny across histories and cultures. Early Christians saw sapphires as the “Stone of Destiny” and in Ancient Greece, pilgrims would carry sapphires to make themselves more open to receiving their destiny. In Greek mythology, diamonds were seen as the tears of the gods, who had ultimate power over the fate of humans. It was also told that Cupid’s arrows were tipped with diamonds: the destiny of love.

    Not identical but fully in sync, these two stones are remarkable. A 2.53ct natural sapphire paired with a 1.70ct Cushion Cut, H VS2 GIA diamond stunner are complimentary spirits coming together.
